This watercolor is an unusual view of Stage Harbor, Chatham. The viewer is standing on a hill overlooking a house to the harbor beyond. There is a boat under sail and two larger moored boats. The harbor goes back into marsh, more harbor and then beach, sea grass, and scrub pine. In the far distance is the outer beach, ocean and sky. The painting is double-matted with an off-white mat under glass and has a grainy wooden frame that measures 16 5/8" x 25 3/4".
